About Geoffrey Comp
Geoff Comp is an academic emergency medicine physician and Associate Program Director at Creighton University School of Medicine/Valleywise Health Medical Center emergency medicine residency program with a professional interest in wilderness and environmental medicine as well as EMS and prehospital care. He holds advanced training and experience in these topics including a wilderness medicine fellowship (FAWM) through the Wilderness Medical Society (WMS) and is a National Advanced Wilderness Life Support instructor. He is involved with Medical Wilderness Adventure Racing (MedWAR) and has helped organize and develop content for six different races across the country. He participates on a national level as a leader, mentor, and advocate for the Emergency Medicine Residents Association (EMRA), and the American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP). He has held positions including Chair of the EMRA Wilderness Medicine Committee and member of the organization’s Executive Board of Directors. Dr. Comp also has a professional and research focus on medical education and developing various ways to teach emergency medicine. He is constantly seeking out opportunity to combine his interest in wilderness medicine and innovations in emergency medicine education. The Arizona native and proud University of Arizona Wildcat graduated from U of A with a bachelor’s degree in Physiology. He attended medical school in Kansas City, Missouri and emergency medicine residency in Columbus, Ohio before returning back home to the valley of the sun. In his spare time, Dr. Comp is training for endurance athletic events and trying to spend as much time as he can with his wife in the outdoors.
