LEADERSHIP· In the words of the late Westinghouse Broadcasting Company President, Donald McGannon: “Leadership is an action, not a position.” I strive to exemplify these words whether I am managing business timelines and deliverables, or working through an operational emergency in the early morning hours after a deployment gone awry.· Tracking of milestones is a key element of any successful project. I aim to ensure they are accurately tracked with regular updates so that we not only know what progress is being made, we know exactly when progress hits a standstill. This allows me to step in to remove road blocks by working with the team to find a solution or bringing in an escalation point in a timely fashion.· Issues can and do arise whether they are staff or system related, but by ensuring proper process management we can implement corrective action. I strive to build cohesion in the team so that we can work together to find the root cause of the issue and implement systems or adjust process to ensure it doesn’t reoccur. SYSTEMS ENGINEERING· When working to solve an issue I not only look to address the immediate problem, I attempt to ensure that in the future the system that is implemented can be adapted to handle ever changing business requirements.· With over 10 years of experience in IT, I know that a beta system today can become a production system tomorrow. I work closely with all stake holders in a project to ensure when a system is stood up, it is configured with all production best practices in mind and we won’t be caught off guard when it is unexpectedly deemed critical.· I’ve implemented hundreds of systems across an array of hardware and software combinations in my career. I know the key to any good implementation is a good set of backups and regular verification of those backups. I work to ensure that we have a roll back plan and a known good backup of a system before changing anything.
