I lead the Biota portfolio of research at Manaaki Whenua. This also includes the management and curation of five of Aotearoa New Zealand\'s nationally significant biological collections: The Allan Herbarium (CHR) New Zealand Arthropod Collection (NZAC), Ko Te Aitanga Pepeke o Aotearoa New Zealand Fungarium (PDD), Te Kohinga Hekaheka o Aotearoa ICMP (International Collection of Microorganisms from Plants) Te Kohinga Harakeke o Aotearoa – National New Zealand Flax Collection The Biota portfolio biggest research programme is the \"Beyond Myrtle Rust\" MBIE Endeavour Fund programme however, we carry out a wide range of research on plants, algae, insects, mites, nematodes, fungi and bacteria. We also have the commercial EcoGene®: DNA-based diagnostics laboratory service.
