Lead Engineer within the Commercial & Innovation Team within Network Planning & Regulation team at SP Energy Networks (SPEN). Coming up to my 23rd year in engineering education and employment, with the last 14-15 years spent at SPEN. For the most part this has been spent in an innovation role, utilising Ofgem Innovation Stimulus to deliver benefits for UK customers. As of May 2019, I have been appointed the Project Manager for SPENs £8.5m Charge Network Innovation Competition (NIC) project that looks to accelerate the rollout of public Electric Vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure. As an EV driver it’s a project I am very enthusiastic about and looking to disseminate on regularly.Other notable activities / projects include:• Transitioning LiDAR based Virtual World Asset Management solutions into BaU for Distribution Overhead Line Surveys • The development of Passive and Real Time Fault Level Monitoring solutions• Producing SPENs 2018 Distribution Innovation Strategy• Contributing to the 2018 ENA Electrical Innovation Strategy• Chairing the ENA Innovation Working Group• Trialling and proving the benefits of Dynamic Line Ratings at 132kV
