ABOUT GENEVIEVE MORTENSEN
I\'m a Ph.D. student in Bioinformatics at Indiana University and I currently work as a research assistant under Prof. Haixu Tang in the Department of Computer Science.My current collaborations are with the IU School of Medicine and IU Health Bloomington Hospital.My current research involves applying artificial intelligence (AI) tools, such as large language models (LLMs) and machine learning (ML) algorithms, to improve diagnostic and technical workflows in biomedicine. My activities include organizing events and seminars to advance bioinformatics-related engagement at IU through its Center for Bioinformatics Research. I offer work experience in automating molecular diagnostic workflows through end-to-end development for accredited biological and clinical testing laboratories. I also offer teaching experience in Python programming, machine learning, and molecular biology data analytics.Check out my github: https://github.com/ginnymortensen
