Gene is a leader in the sports event management industry having co-founded Eventive Sports in 1995. Based in Birmingham, Alabama, the company has grown into one of the country’s largest dedicated sports event management organizations managing various sporting events in golf, football, basketball, motorsports, tennis, intercollegiate athletics, and other sports. During the pandemic in 2020-21, Gene shifted some of his company\'s focus into CV 19 testing, research, and call center management for a wide variety of Alabama-based organizations including the Alabama Department of Public Health, Jefferson County Department of Health, UAB Medical, and the University of Alabama\'s Health Services Center.Bruno Event Team is a full-service sports event management company with expertise in sponsorship sales, ticket sales, event operations, and volunteer management. Bruno Event Team has more than 70 employees in nine offices in the US and Bermuda. Gene was inducted into the Alabama Sports Hall of Fame\'s class of 2022 as a Distinguished American Sportsman. He is also a member of the Birmingham Golf Hall of Fame and the Birmingham Business Journal\'s Hall of Fame.Gene received a bachelor’s degree in Economics from the College of Charleston (SC) and his Masters\'s of Business Administration from the University of South Carolina.
