ABOUT GENAYA CAMERON

Genaya is a senior event operations executive with strategic oversight of core delivery teams at the Halifax Convention Centre and Scotiabank Centre. Her portfolio includes leadership of Food & Beverage (Catering and Culinary), Event Management, Event Technology, Event Services, Guest Services, and Event Security. She is accountable for the strategic execution of operational activities, driving seamless event delivery through high-performing teams, optimized systems, and a culture rooted in service excellence. Genaya also serves as the executive lead for the Events East Emergency Preparedness Program, ensuring organizational readiness and resilience. A key architect behind the successful launch of the Halifax Convention Centre in 2017, Genaya led the development of foundational teams and operational standards that continue to support exceptional client experiences. She is the executive lead for the organization’s achievement and ongoing compliance with AIPC Quality Standards Gold Level Certification, a globally recognized benchmark for excellence in convention centre operations. Genaya is a respected leader in arena management at Scotiabank Centre, recognized for her strategic approach to enhancing fan experience and building strong tenant partnerships. Her ability to align operational execution with stakeholder priorities positions her as a trusted leader in delivering safe, efficient, and memorable live event environments. Genaya holds the Certificate in Meeting Management (CMM) designation and is a recognized leader in the event and venue management industry. She actively contributes to the advancement of the profession through her involvement with key organizations, including the International Association of Venue Managers (IAVM), where she serves on the Strategic Leadership and Resources CEO Advisory Committee. Genaya is also engaged with Convention Centres of Canada is a former President of the Meeting Professionals International (MPI) Atlantic Chapter, and previously served on the MPI International Board of Directors. In addition to her industry leadership, she lends her expertise to the Blue Nose Marathon Society as a Board Member, supporting one of Nova Scotia’s premier community events.
