Elected Labour and Co-operative Councillor in Town Ward, Doncaster.Main Responsibilities- Campaigning regularly to engage with electorate via communications, community actions and door knocking- Dealing with local casework and following matters through to ensure the appropriate outcome- Chairing and leading on the following committees: Communities and Environment Crime & Disorder Overview and Scrutiny Panel (Chair) and Communities and Environment Overview and Scrutiny Panel (Chair)- Participating in the following committees: Full Council, Elections and Democratic Structures Committee, Employee Relations Disputes Resolution Committee and Overview and Scrutiny Management Committee- Support the development of community groups via Ward Budget Funding and engaging with residents- Forming and enhancing local policy in the benefit of residents of Town Ward and across Doncaster.Achievements- Led and supported motions to be passed via Labour Group and Full Council, including Ending Pets as Prizes on Council Land, Ending Fire and Rehire practices and Fair Tax when overseeing procurement contracts- Campaigned three times within Labour Group to secure Chair position for Overview and Scrutiny Communities and Environment Committee- Developing a grassroots Violence Against Women & Girls campaigning group in Doncaster, which has engaged residents and trade unionists to vocalise and campaign on women’s safety. Along with organising annual vigils to mark International Day of Eliminating Violence Women and Girls- Increasing the amount of active resident groups within Town Ward.
