SO2 Professions Advisor – Air & Space Operations ProfessionsRoyal Air ForceAs the SO2 Professions Advisor for Air and Space Operations, I provide strategic advice and specialist guidance on the development, management, and career progression of personnel across the Air & Space Operations professions. My role focuses on ensuring that capability, workforce planning, and professional standards align with the RAF’s operational requirements in an evolving multi-domain environment.Key responsibilities:Acting as the subject matter expert for Air & Space Operations professions, advising senior leadership on workforce capability, professional development, and future force requirements.Leading on career management, training pathways, and professional standards to support the growth and retention of highly skilled personnel.Supporting policy development, profession-specific initiatives, and implementation of career structures in line with RAF strategy.Engaging with stakeholders across Defence to ensure the Air & Space Operations workforce is prepared to meet emerging operational and strategic challenges.Providing mentorship and guidance to officers and airmen, ensuring clarity on career opportunities and progression.Impact:This role enables me to influence the professional development and long-term sustainability of key operational capabilities, supporting the RAF’s ability to deliver air and space power in defence of the UK and its allies.
