ABOUT GELLI ANN JIMENEZ DAYRIT
As one of the first in my immediate family to go to college, education became a very important pursuit of mine. As a young child, I dreamt of becoming a first-grade teacher. However, my experiences working as a student assistant and leader in my undergraduate institution shifted my passion towards working with college students and alumni. After working in higher education for approximately 9 years, I pivoted to the legal industry where I am currently working as the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Specialist at Snell & Wilmer focusing on DE & I initiatives and events firmwide, pipeline programs with high school, colleges, and universities for aspiring attorneys, and recruiting efforts. I have found a passion of advocating for the underserved and broadly underrepresented populations by creating access, visibility, and space for storytelling. My research interests include: AAPI data disaggregation, access and retention of first-generation students and professionals, identity development, and holistic health. I also hope to continue my desire of teaching by being a professor at a university, and developing my global education through traveling. I am determined to give back to the greater community and serve as a role model to folxs about tapping into their strengths to reach their goals and dreams.
