ABOUT GEETHA THIAGARAJAN

Researcher with 30+ years of research led industry experiences. PhD in Renewable Energy on designing novel algorithms for generation dispatch including storage and renewables from Indian Institute of Technology Madras, Chennai, India, 2009. Currently working as Chief Technology Officer for Life Sciences in Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) since 2021 working primarily on the use of AI and Quantum technologies to transform drug discovery value chain and reduce the time and cost taken to launch a drug in the market. Some of the noteworthy accomplishments have been use of generative AI to design novel drug molecules for proprietary cancer targets, use of quantum computing to reduce the number of reaction pathways that needs to be experimented thereby reducing late stage attritions in drug development process. From 20••••21 have been Chief Technology Officer for Middle East and Africa wherein remarkable accomplishments have been implementation of AI enabled intelligent energy management solution to one of the top middle east retailer across 20+ countries which is still in production and reaping outcomes, enterprise level AI digital twin for a telecom provider to avoid sim swap fraud across Africa, successful discovery and mentoring of startups into business, research MoUs and joint discovery with noteworthy government bodies and many more. White paper on “Achieving food security through digital 5 forces” got selected in 2018 UAE World Government Summit and invited to participate in the Summit. From 2008 to 2013, have been Senior Scientist in TCS Corporate Technology Office focusing on conceiving and building platform based solutions in the area of Energy Sustainability. In this tenure, conceived AI enabled energy management solution which was trial tested with 140+ facilities of TCS and now being deployed to clients across domains in all countries including Europe and Americas in the name of CleverEnergy (trademarked). It is growing as a profitable line of business. Did Masters and Doctorate in Electrical Engg at Indian Institute of Technology Madras from 20••••08. Was branch topper in Masters with 9.57 CGPA, topper in PhD course work with 9 CGPA, received several awards including Best PhD thesis award. Worked as Lecturer in Engineering Colleges including NIT Trichy from Have published several patents, journals and conference papers. Been in several round tables and thought leadership sessions with CXOs across the globe.
