ABOUT GEORGE WILSON
As Head of English and School Education at the British Council in France, my work involves supporting the learning, teaching and assessment of, in and through English at all levels of the French education system. I work closely with the French and UK ministries of Education, local académies, researchers and industry bodies, as well as with teachers and teacher educators across France. Funded by the UK government, this non-lucrative role serves to build positive cultural relations and develop educational opportunities between the UK and France. I also work closely with international organisations based in France to promote multilingual education, inclusion and empowerment, and thus support our global work in these areas. With over 20 years of experience working in the International Education sector, I am skilled in people and project management, multilingual education, teacher training and stakeholder engagement. I have extensive experience of managing complex programmes and working closely with colleagues to enhance skills and performance. My research expertise lie in regional-language policy, multilingual education and inclusion, and I have authored several publications looking at these topics.
