Security realist, systems theorist, unrepentant techie, business leader, speaker and general geek. Heavily involved in the community - we need to bridge the gaps in our profession by inculcatating community of practice. I bridge the silos between technology, security and business.Originally a sysadmin by trade, now a seasoned security leader and director with a deep technical background and broad experience in business. My expertise spans enterprise security architecture, risk management (inc. compliance, et al), information governance, incident response, cybersecurity strategy,(agile) development, devops/cloud/microservice scaleup, industrial control systems (SCADA), programme management, large-scale transformation delivery and security operations, supported by a diverse educational background and the perspective only a couple of years in a good audit team can provide. I also have extensive international experience, having worked in over 14 countries.Industry-wise, I\'ve worked in government, crypto, charity, heavy industry, insurance, consulting (SI),(digital) media,(a bit of) legal and under my own aegis. I led ISSA-UK for six years as President, being appointed to ISSA\'s international honour roll upon stepping down at the end of 2020. I am still active in the community and conference scene, including helping with 44CON and the relaunch of dc4420, and am open to (select) speaking opportunities.
