ABOUT GIANFRANCO CHICCO

Gianfranco Chicco is a London-based creative producer, storyteller, marketing strategist and conference director working at the intersection of design, technology and craft. A cultural translator between different worlds, he creates physical and digital experiences that bring people together. Gian is the former Head of Content and Digital of the London Design Festival and London Design Biennale (20••••23), two leading platforms that champion London as a global design capital and set the stage for world-leading contemporary design and design-led innovation, creativity and research.He was the European Marketing Director of The Webby Awards and The Lovie Awards (20••••18), and a key member in the curation and production of the World Business Forum (20••••07), the Picnic Festival (20••••10), Frontiers of Interaction (2010), and Social Media Week (20••••16) among many others.Gian writes The Craftsman Newsletter, celebrating craftsmanship from around the world, with a spotlight on Japanese artisanship. There he uncovers inspiring stories of skilled makers and their craft. He\'s also working on a book on what we can learn from Japanese craftspeople to improve how we live and work.Gian holds an Industrial Engineering degree from the Buenos Aires Institute of Technology (ITBA) and an executive MBA from the Politecnico di Milano Graduate School of Management.Originally from Argentina, he is also Italian and has lived in Buenos Aires, Milan, Tokyo, Amsterdam, and Madrid before moving to London in 2013.[Last updated: Nov 2024]
