ABOUT GAËLLE CASSIN-ROSS

My philosophy for how to succeed in research boils down to three factors: Posing challenging questions, engaging in sustained hard work, and good luck. So far in my career I have succeeded quite well at the first two, but as they say: The harder you work, the luckier you get. Endurance is by far my strongest trait. Research is my life and my passion, and I have dedicated my life to be a good researcher. That dedication has forced me to cultivate other strengths, including improving my communication skills, handling adversity and learning how to live in a fashion where I can be exceptionally mobile. My favorite thing about research is that it’s the best platform for having a logical, scientific debate. I love exchanging ideas with other curious, driven researchers, and I’m excited about where these discussions have led and could lead.
