About Greg Bullington
As CEO and Co-Founder of Magnolia Medical Technologies, I created a $4B+ market category around sepsis diagnostic accuracy. Sepsis is the leading cause of death in U.S. hospitals, with a misdiagnosis rate of roughly 40%.I took the company from a blank sheet of paper to national adoption of a new standard of care, building the commercial engine, the manufacturing operations, and a team of nearly 100. Along the way, I raised $170M+ in equity and venture debt, secured five FDA clearances across five distinct device families, and served as first-named inventor on 200+ patents.I also built Magnolia Analytics, a proprietary EHR-integrated platform that tracked compliance, diagnostic accuracy, treatment decisions, and downstream outcomes, and quantified the economic value of the platform at each site. It was central to how we drove renewals and expansion, and it reflects how I think about operating businesses generally: if you can measure it, you can manage it and sell it.Iserved as chief witness and company representative in two federal patent jury trials in the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware, both resulting in wins. I also prevailed in appellate proceedings in the Ninth Circuit and before the USPTO PTAB. Ioriginated the Diagnostic Accuracy in Sepsis Act, which earned bipartisan Congressional support, and clinical evidence from the Steripath platform informed updated national guidelines from the CDC, CLSI, ENA, INS, and others.Beyond Magnolia, I have been involved in $1B+ of private capital transactions as an operator, investor, advisor, and board member. I co-founded Plurata Technologies, sold to SanDisk, and built Forum Ventures, where I worked with 30+ companies on commercialization, IP strategy, capital formation, and M&A. I currently sit on four boards spanning surgical devices, wealth management, consumer wellness, and venture capital.Earlier career: 20+ strategy engagements for Fortune C-suites and boards at Lake Partners, a boutique firm founded and led by McKinsey, Bain, and Mercer alumni, plus financial advisory at Deloitte.Across my career I have advised and worked directly inside 50+ companies ranging from Fortune 50 to seed-stage. I am equally comfortable building a product roadmap, negotiating a term sheet, testifying in federal court, or working alongside a management team on a 100-day value creation plan.Open to operating partner, CEO, and board roles in healthcare, medtech, and adjacent technology sectors.
