Recent experience includes- Advising Cambridgeshire & Peterborough Combined Authority on the establishment of a new university in Peterborough- Advising a UK university on the buy out of its joint venture partner in Malaysia- Advising Dyson in connection with the establishment of the Dyson Institute and its successful registration with the Office for Students and receipt of new degree awarding powers- Leading the merger of two chartered higher education institutions- Leading the advice on the innovative collaboration to fund and establish a new school of engineering. The collaboration guaranteed the early success of the school and its long term viability through various funding mechanisms and a research and development framework- Advising a significant number of universities on joint ventures with the private education sector to establish international foundation colleges- Taking a large number of universities, including chartered institutions, higher education corporations and companies limited by guarantee through radical constitutional reform projects. These projects involved the re-writing of constitutional documentation and subsidiary legislation, advising on the regulatory process and obtaining the necessary approvals- Advising on the establishment of medical and veterinary schools- Advising a University in connection with the restructuring of its investment in a Science Park including the redrafting and negotiation of all company, joint venture and financing documentation- Advising a university in connection with the dissolution of its joint venture with another university and to structure the continuing joint arrangements during the teach-through period- Leading the advice to a number of universities in connection with the transfer of campuses or provision to further education colleges by way of business transfer.
