Gayle Collins has extensive R&D experience in the communications and instrumentation industries, including products for 5G. She has worked in the design and advanced development teams of Freescale Semiconductor and RF Micro Devices, designing power amplifiers for wireless infrastructure applications in discrete and RFIC technologies. She has successfully designed Doherty amplifiers pushing the performance envelope of the processes she has worked with, and obtained the highest figure of merit for a power amplifier (PA) design. Ms Collins has also worked in the Microwave Technology Center of Agilent Technologies in Santa Rosa, CA, USA, where she worked closely with the circuit design and fabrication engineers and scientists to improve the process and to identify any potential failures in the MMICs. Ms. Collins holds a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from Arizona State University. Her thesis is entitled Robust Linearization and Stability of RF Power Amplifiers in which she demonstrated the viability of robust control theory in the design of RFPA systems in the face of process variability.Ms. Collins is a senior member of the and she is active in the MTT society and ARFTG. She is a member of the IMS Steering Committees for 2013, 2015, and 2020. She has been the Technical Program Chair for ARFTG/Power Amplifier Symposium in Fall 2011, and Local Organizer for ARFTG in Fall 2012. She has presented at several IMS Workshops in recent years, and was an invited panel speaker at the 32nd Compound Semiconductor IC Symposium (CSICS). She regularly reviews papers, and is a member of the IMS Technical Program Review Committee 2013-present; the ARFTG TPC 2006-present; and the PA Symposium 2009-present. Member MTT-5.
