ABOUT GAVIN MCCOY CLAIRE

I am a Software Engineer (Backend and Cloud) with a cybersecurity foundation (M.S, NYU) who builds secure, scalable systems that deliver measurable impact. I enjoy creating technology that improves people’s lives. At Las Vegas Valley Water District, the systems I support help deliver safe and reliable water to more than 1.5 million residents each day.• Led development of my company’s first cloud data warehouse (Azure Synapse, Data Factory, Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle), ingesting nearly 1 TB of data each month. The project finished ahead of schedule and at half the projected cost, while significantly improving data accessibility and query performance.• Converted legacy batch processes into real-time microservices (.NET, Java, Groovy), improving data freshness and accelerating decision-making.• Built dozens of customer-facing APIs that reduced manual workload by more than 20 percent, cutting service transactions from 30 minutes to seconds.• Integrated application security practices (Fortify SAST, OWASP) into daily development, sustaining zero critical vulnerabilities in production.Beyond my enterprise work, I founded udephi LLC, developing security based products for health and productivity applications including a recently released iOS Water Fellow Hydration Tracker. I also founded Strictly Dominant Gaming, publishing award-winning iOS games and education apps such as Prime Target, winner of the U.S. Congressional App Challenge. In both ventures, I manage the full stack: front end, backend, design, deployment, and support.I focus on building secure, high-performing systems that bring together backend engineering, cloud platforms, and application security, while continuing to expand into full-stack product development.
