ABOUT GAVIN GOVINDEN

Gavin is currently Principal of a two form entry primary academy in Surrey with an attached nursery, Family Centre and SEND specialist unit (MLD centre). A passionate advocate for the use of AI and technology in education, Gavin was invited to join a cross sector panel of experts and leaders in AI development for schools in 2023 - AI-In-Education.co.uk. Gavin sits on the strategy panel, supporting the implementation and development of AI implementation in education through this important initiative. Gavin has also supported the work of the Foundation for Education Development, contributing thought-leadership to the organisations\' long-term strategic goals and policy recommendations for the education sector in the UK. He has significant experience in leading large-scale operational and strategic change projects in schools and developing leadership teams to achieve the best educational and pastoral outcomes for pupils. His passion lies in improving outcomes for all pupils through a systems leadership approach with high levels of autonomy and accountability. Gavin’s additional professional and leadership experience in the legal sector has allowed him to bring a broader range of insight and a wealth of transferable skills to the table that benefit the schools and communities he works within. He has completed both his NPQ in Headship and NPQ in Executive Leadership giving him the knowledge and skills to scale up leadership and school improvement projects at multi academy trust and local authority level.
