Conduct required fire and building inspections on existing buildings and structures for occupancy, accessibility, and fire & life safety and report conditions and concerns to appropriate parties for action. Responsibilities include Code enforcement, ensuring compliance with construction documents and standards, providing technical support, and ensuring public safety across University campuses. Direct communication and coordination with University management, construction contractors, and occupants/owners during all phases of the project(s). Pre-construction review of documents and plans, including specialized submittals, for Code compliance from conceptual design to final occupancy. Provide Code consultation, interpretation, and assistance to project designers, contractors, and University personnel. Manage University construction punch list for quality and warranty issues. Certifications include:• NFPA Certified Fire Inspector 1• NFPA Certified Plan Examiner• ICC Certified Commercial Building Inspector
