ABOUT GAVIN WORT
As Lead Chaplain at Durham University, I provide functional and strategic leadership to the University’s network of 18 chaplains, including college and pan-university chaplains representing a range of faiths, beliefs and worldviews: Buddhist, Christian, Hindu, Jewish and Muslim. I am an experienced Anglican priest and Diocesan Interfaith Advisor in the Diocese of Durham. I am a Non-Residentiary Canon of Durham Cathedral. I am also a member of Durham Diocesan Synod. I am skilled in and passionate about interfaith and inter-cultural engagement. I chair the County Durham Faiths Network. I am a professed member (Tertiary) of the Third Order of the Society of St Francis. I am also a member of the Society of Catholic Priests (Durham and Newcastle Chapter).
