About Gavin von der Ahe

I am a senior marketing and screenwriting student at Loyola Marymount University. I plan to combine the B.S. I receive one of these two majors to be compatible with a creative minor for screenwriting in film. I aim to understand as much as possible in both the business and creative areas of the entertainment industry associated with movies and television. My dream career is to have a job in the entertainment industry starting on the business side first where I can eventually transition to work on the creative side. I am not totally sure at the moment which career I will choose to get that position, but I want to utilize my time at a campus both well known for its film and business schools to gain the proper knowledge, skills, connections, and opportunities to achieve this. As of now, I have diverse experience in working in many different set jobs including grip, sound mixer, boom operator, assistant cameraman, assistant director, and main directing a bit. I practice screenwriting daily and have written and co-written different short films or visual projects with my friends who are also filmmakers. This is all to ensure I do not just want to help distribute content but be the one who produces both creative and visual work.
