ABOUT GAVIN SKOK
I love what I do and it shows in my work. I am a commercial litigation lawyer in Fox Rothschild\'s Seattle office. My law practice emphasizes class action defense, unique or challenging commercial disputes, and technology and privacy litigation. I have represented clients from large Fortune 100 companies to local, family-owned businesses and sole proprietorships. Regardless of the size or stakes, I constantly push myself to bring my all to every matter. I represent clients in federal and state courts around the country and in arbitrations. I’ve enthusiastically prosecuted and defended a variety of cases, from breach of contract claims to data breach actions, to consumer protection lawsuits and complex financial fraud. I regularly defend clients in consumer and privacy-related class action cases. I also prosecute and defend business interference cases, earnout and royalty litigation, and other disputes arising from the purchase and sale of businesses or products. I enjoy the unique and challenging cases I’ve been privileged to handle, such as recent arbitrations involving alleged gambling in video games, beer distribution rights, and Brazilian real estate franchising; a two-week jury trial regarding an underwater video camera; a bench trial over a race car sponsorship; a jury trial defending a reporter and magazine against claims of wrongful disclosure of a confidential source; and the watershed Ninth Circuit data breach case of Krottner v. Starbucks. I write and speak at CLEs about the areas I work in, including privacy, data security, class actions, and attorney-client privilege. I also volunteer time to the ACLU, and have provided pro bono service to a local public defender agency (including several cases tried to a jury), Oxford House, a local winner of a major network home remodeling show, and other local organizations and individuals. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my wife and daughter and am an avid wakesurfer and wakeboarder.
