Today\'s IT issues are rarely a result of lack of technological options, but quite the opposite. Dealing with a seemingly overwhelming choice can be daunting or it can be exiting when you can collaborate with a wide range of professionals to come up with the solutions our modern world require of us. In my role as solution and application architect I was tasked with the conception, selection and creation of a global integration platform. Collaborating with colleagues and senior management to successfully select both vendor and implementation partner in three periods of three months from nothing, through a PoC and then to the first pilot for our CRM solution. I took responsibility for the building the solution and extending the initial scope to become a global asset for the company. At the same time a new project to redefine the IT organization was started and I was asked if I wanted to take an active role in the transformation. I had already participated in a collaboration on behaviours for success and gladly accepted this next opportunity for an international collaboration. Helping define the new organization took almost a year and from personal experience of a previous successful transformation I could appreciate the effort and patience needed to complete something of this magnitude. With the arrival of the pandemic the IT organization, while still reorganizing, required additional teams for pandemic management and fast tracking of new solutions where I also contributed. After the peak of the IT response to the pandemic was behind us the new IT organization was announced and I took on the role of lead architect for a newly defined department, while continuing as the lead for the integration platform. The next challenges and collaborations begin.
