WORK HISTORY
Professional Coach Photographic Practitioner @Gavin Parry Coaching
Manchester, GB
I am a trained and AOC Accredited Professional Coach. With a focus on exploring and utilising creativity as a force for meaningful professional development, change and growth. I take a wholistic, structured and solution focused approach to the professional challenges facing individuals and organisations in navigating the demands and complexities of the modern world. My coaching practice is informed by 30+ years of working as an educator and leader in Higher Education and as a freelance photographer. In HE my leadership style was collegiate - predicated on aligning agendas, problem solving, facilitating and developing effective working relationships at all levels within a large and complex institution. As both a leader and a coach, I enjoy the challenge of working at the boundaries of where the person, the team, the ideas, the skills-set and the agendas intersect. It can be invaluable for individuals to map and explore this territory and have coaching support in developing personal agency, growth and learning. Finding effective ways for maintaining consensus, creating meaningful partnerships that can positivity feed into a working culture, and maximising potential at both an individual and organisational level, are the coaching opportunities. My coaching approach has also been shaped by my experience working as an educator and photographer: Over many years I have engaged in the challenge of finding effective ways to support students to develop the professional skills and attributes to enable them to flourish within a competitive world, whilst, at the same time, nurturing and protecting the individual creative spirit that defines their voice. As a freelancer I very much enjoy the challenge of realising a brief’s full potential. From undertaking collaborative problem solving, exploring ideas and ideas development, good project management, clear contracting and good communication though to the invaluable professional relationships that develop
