About Gavin Loyd

I am a graduate student at Carnegie Mellon University\'s Heinz College where I am pursuing a Master\'s in Public Policy and Data Analytics. I have a strong interest in understanding the economic impact of policies and regulations on domestic and international communities, particularly as it relates to energy infrastructure investments.In my previous role, I worked as a utility-scale solar developer at Sol Systems, where I gained firsthand experience with the early stages of solar projects at the forefront of the energy transition. While developing these projects, I saw the challenges facing both future energy producers and surrounding communities. Drawing on my experiences in GIS and analyzing public and private energy datasets, I want to explore how to align the energy transition with economic prosperity across communities.I am seeking a Summer 2026 Internship in economic or policy analysis that leverages both my quantitative training and my experience with the real-world impacts of policy decisions.See my GitHub portfolio here: https://github.com/LoydGC
