ABOUT GAVIN GOLDWASSER
Hello! My name is Gavin, and I am a sophomore at UC Davis pursuing a double major in Political Science and Technology Management. Through my studies, I’ve developed a growing interest in data analytics, honing skills in tools like R Studio and Microsoft Office to visualize and analyze data.Beyond my academic work, I am passionate about innovation and entrepreneurship. I am the co-founder of ProcrastApply, an innovative student-focused job application platform. Leading operations, business strategy, and growth initiatives, I helped launch the venture and secured in funding through UC Davis’ Little Bang Competition. I’ve also recruited and worked closely with a team of 12 industry mentors, leveraging their expertise to refine our product and accelerate platform growth. This experience has strengthened my skills in leadership, product development, and strategic thinking — and deepened my interest in building solutions that drive real-world impact.For the last four summers, I’ve also worked as an Ocean Lifeguard for the City of Newport Beach. This role has challenged me to perform in high-pressure rescue situations, ensuring public safety both on the sand and in near-shore waters. It has also allowed me to strengthen key skills such as teamwork, responsibility management, communication (including radio technical skills), EMS scenarios, and mentorship of younger lifeguards.During high school, I further explored my interest in law by working with an insurance lawyer throughout my junior year. This hands-on experience provided me with insights into legal processes, including depositions and legal analysis, and fostered my understanding of the broader legal landscape.I’m excited to continue building on these experiences as I explore opportunities that combine my interests in law, psychology, entrepreneurship, and data-driven decision-making.
