ABOUT GAVIN COUPE

I have over 20 years experience working in Transport Planning across the UK as well as in UAE, Qatar, Oman, Kazakhstan, India, and Australia.I am a technical expert in Local and Microscopic Simulation Modelling as well as in early stage design, Public Realm projects, Development Planning & Development Control, Masterplanning, traffic signals, Environmental Impact Assessments, bus and tram schemes, and cycle schemes, amongst others.I also have experience as a Team Leader and mentor with a particular focus on developing and supporting Early Careers staff. I have been heavily involved in Graduate and Apprentice recruitment, working to ensure that the companies i work for hire the right staff. I have presented papers at the European Transport Conference, the Transport Planning Society Conference, and Modelling World with those papers focusing on how drones were used as a new source of data for transport planning projects. I have represented National Highways at a Public Inquiry, in a limited capacity, as an Expert Witness. I also have significant experience presenting work to stakeholders including presenting to the TfL Board, and to the full range of elected officials, most recently when i worked on the East Leeds Orbital Route.I have presented a significant amount of training internally within the companies i have worked for as well as presenting external training such as PTRC lectures. I have worked on a range of flagship transportation projects including Oxford Circus, the 2012 Olympic Games, the Regent Street strategy, Dubai Airport, Dubai Metro, Khalifa Industrial Zone Abu Dhabi and many more.
