ABOUT GAVIN CLARKSON
Geologist and geological software specialist with over 15 years of diverse experience in the mining industry. I am an advanced user in MinePlan geological software and am and expert in geological modelling and interpolation solutions, including implicit modelling, variography, multiple indicator kriging, conditional simulation, and grade control workflows. I have worked with mining datasets including coal, lithium, vein hosted gold, and disseminated base metal deposits. I’ve been part of the mining industry as long as I can remember. Growing up in Whitehorse, Yukon, my summer jobs involved drill sampling, gold panning, or claim staking, which established my passion for geology. This became a Bachelors in Science (Geology) and a Masters of Applied Science (Mining Engineering), bridging the gap between these disciples. I then took the Citation in Applied Geostatistics to further understand the techniques applied to the full mining cycle, from initial estimation through to production and grade control. I\'m passionate about recognizing inefficiencies in modern geology workflows and enhancing them into streamlined solutions.
