About Gautam Rao
I am passionate about building great digital products. Earlier in my career with Huawei, I helped develop Voice over IP solutions, which went to become industry-leading solutions. Later, at Climate Corporation (Monsanto Subsidiary), I was leading a team which was building the largest digital agriculture platform -FarmRise for the smallholder farmers of the world. Through the FarmRise platform, we aimed to provide digital services to marginal farmers to help them make critical decisions helping them to reduce costs, improve yields and get better price realization for their products. Currently, at Amazon I am leading teams which build and own the technology powering the Amazon Campus programs and Locker programs. The Campus program allows students to order online and pick up their items using Amazon’s campus pickup location. Amazon Prime customers get the added benefit of picking up the items on the same/next day too. These brick-and-mortar sites(CPP) include lockers where students can pick up their products. The aptly located pickup centers on campus also have convenience items for students to buy on a whim—from snack foods to essentials.These CPPs offer FREE Package pickup, FREE Return dropoff (boxes and packing materials are provided), Store Associate for any assistance & Self-service kiosks. Select CPPs also additionally offer Lounge area, Kindle Device Bar, Fire TV / Gaming Area & Study areas with charging stations. With these services, we are putting in our bit to contribute to Amazon\'s vision to be earth\'s most customer-centric company; to build a place where people can come to find and discover anything they might want to buy online.
