I work at Goldman Sachs AWM supporting the private real estate business, which manages over billions of dollars in assets globally. My role sits at the intersection of investment strategy, financial infrastructure, and execution.The most defining project of my time here was leading the migration of the entire real estate equity portfolio from Excel to Anaplan. Over two years, I helped design and implement a platform covering 150+ deals that now powers portfolio forecasting, NAV computation, investor reporting, and investment monitoring for more than 100 users across the firm. It runs continuously and feeds live valuations and reporting, so the systems had to be robust and auditable from day one.Alongside the infrastructure work, I have also built the models used for fund strategy decisions. This includes recasting legacy balance sheet investments as hypothetical fund investments to simulate leverage structures, tax implications, and FX exposure. Those simulations feed directly into the track records used in LP fundraising as the business has shifted from balance sheet investing toward third party fund management.I also work on designing stress testing frameworks for the portfolio, including liquidity models for a multi billion dollar open ended fund and hold or sell analyses used in capital allocation discussions with senior investment leadership.I work with highly competent analysts in the team and translate ambiguous questions from global asset managers into structured analytical workstreams while keeping live systems running reliably. Much of my day to day work involves taking complex financial and operational questions and turning them into models and tools that decision makers can actually use.Across everything I do, the common thread is structuring messy problems into systems that make complex investment decisions clearer and faster.
