Metropolitan Urban Design (MUD) Workshop is a community-centric urban design and planning studio dedicated to the regeneration of neighborhoods and public places. We work with communities of all kinds, from urban neighborhoods in NYC to rural communities in upstate New York, to develop equitable, resilient, and dynamic places for the future.As Studio Manager, I manage the proposal process, developing our proposed approach to urban design and planning projects in close collaboration with various public (e.g, NYCEDC, NYC DOT, NYC DDC) and private agencies. I also support business development, financial planning, and day-to-day Studio operations alongside the Principal.

ABOUT GAUTAM IYER
I am interested in using narrative and data to shape equitable policy and urban planning. I have extensive experience in primary and secondary public policy research and have synthesized findings on housing affordability, neighborhood change and preservation, and other topics in various media formats including reports, podcasts, and essays.
