   Responsibility for Corporate Taxation, Transfer Pricing, International Taxation at Persistent Systems Limited, an Indian multinational information technology (IT) Service company headquartered in Pune, India. Persistent operates in around 20 countries • Tax Costs and Group Effective Tax Rate (ETR) managed efficiently and optimal and sustainable ETR achieved by formulating and periodically reviewing Transfer Pricing strategy, policies and benchmarking and documentation approach for various intercompany transactions in alignment with BEPS principles and changes in business scenario of Persistent Group • Initiated and led the change management program for corporate tax which led to multiple process and system efficiencies • R&D Tax credit claimed and availed in different global jurisdictions worth around $ 10 Mn over 4 years • Conceptualized and implemented the idea of filing consolidated tax returns of US Subsidiaries which resulted into substantial saving in tax expenses in US • Transfer Pricing assessments closed with clean orders on consistent basis every year • Concluded IRS audit conducted for all entities in US for the first time with ‘Nil’ adjustment’ and ‘clean order’ • Most of the Tax litigation decided in favour of Company, major disallowances done by the Tax Authorities have moved in favour of the Company at higher level • Contribution & support in evaluation of tax implications in multiple Merger and Acquisition transactions and business entity structuring within the group • Formulated and maintained strong internal controls to ensure effective and efficient Global tax compliances. • Extended advisory support to set-up branches and subsidiaries in different geographies
