Key Responsibilities:*Concept & Design Engineering:Create and develop concept, CAD models and 2D drawings for Instrument Panels (IP Carrier, clusters) and Consoles (Center, Floor).Translate styling sketches and clay models into feasible engineering solutions that meet safety, manufacturing, and cost constraints.Perform Digital Mock-up (DMU) analysis to ensure proper fit, clearance, and integration with adjacent parts (HVAC, steering, airbags, electrical wiring).Apply Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD & T) to ensure parts are manufactured and assembled correctly.*Cross-Functional Integration:Collaborate closely with the Styling team to achieve the desired aesthetic and ergonomic intent.Work with the Electrical team to integrate wiring harnesses, infotainment systems, and control switches seamlessly.Coordinate with the HVAC team for the design and routing of ducts and vents for optimal airflow.Interface with the Safety team to ensure designs meet all head impact, knee impact, and passenger airbag (PAB) deployment requirements.*Prototyping & Validation:Lead the creation of prototype parts for design verification and vehicle build phases.Plan and oversee testing and validation of components as per internal (Maruti Suzuki) and international (ECE, MVSS) standards for durability, environmental resistance, squeak & rattle, and safety.Analyze test results, identify failures, and perform root cause analysis to implement effective design corrections.*Project & Vendor Management:Manage the design timeline to meet critical project milestones (Tooling Order, Job1, Start of Production).Work with suppliers and vendors to source components, ensure part quality, and resolve design-related manufacturing issues (DFM - Design for Manufacturability).Drive cost reduction and weight optimization initiatives through value engineering and alternative material selection without compromising on quality.
