About Gaurav Malhotra
I’ve worked in accounting and business services for over 25 years, with extensive experience in mergers & acquisitions (M&A), audit & assurance, taxes and international operations. Today, my primary focus is M&A. Over the years, I’ve learned that technical knowledge is only the very lowest foundation of what a great accounting partner should bring to the table. I see my role as being much more proactive and personal than operational. This is especially true in the tumultuous world of M&A, where proactively addressing the unknown and providing personal guidance are of utmost importance.The two most rewarding parts of my job by far are helping a client and friend successfully navigate the incredibly arduous M&A process, and mentoring junior members of the Lucas Horsfall team and watching them achieve spectacular success.

As head of the M&A department at Lucas Horsfall, I see our clients through the exceptionally challenging process of preparing and executing the sale of their businesses. Quite often, I’m helping owners/founders sell the businesses that they’ve spent years or decades building from the ground up. So along with the very complex technical side of M&A, there is inevitably a tremendous emotional dimension to the process. My role in this process includes assembling the necessary team of lawyers and specialists, assisting or leading negotiations, preparing the company records, and providing personal guidance at every step. It’s a very challenging job, but I wouldn’t have it any other way.
