ABOUT GARY R. SCHICKEL

My career spans over 18 years of Procurement in manufacturing and packaging from a corporate environment. In those years, I held the responsibility of purchasing sand to manufacture glass to multi-wall bags for the pet food industry. A wide range of experience in bidding, contract negotiations and administration for a host of different products. Developed annual budgets by researching industry media and incorporating contract terms timing to adhere to budget goals. Solid experience with understanding internal and vendor production planning / supply chain / vendor transitions to minimize waste / liability. High energy, motivated, very structured individual with a work ethic above normal standards. I strive for a smooth and effective operation in the Procurement department. Managed employees at the corporate level to be highly motivated and adhere to company goals along with abiding by Procurement ethics. Employees have moved up in the organization to more challenging positions. Previous member of The Institute for Supply Chain Management (ISM) and earned C.P.M.designation. Currently, studying to earn the CPSM designation through ISM. Previously, completed all required classes for the CPIM designation with APICS. Involved with internal Lean courses along with participating and co-facilitating Lean Projects. Attended and participated in many seminars on Negotiations, Influence and other subjects related to Procurement.
