Lead the Strategy & Planning team responsible for the development and implementation of bold, performance-driven integrated marketing communications strategies to drive the Arthritis Foundation’s mission forward. Lead the collaborative development of data-driven integrated marketing strategies and plans, ensuring that tactics are on-brand and that key messages align with the strategy and deliver on its impact goals. Provide guidance and direction to the Strategy & Planning team on best practices and standards in marketing and communications strategy, project management, and stakeholder relations and management. Additionally, I synthesize and integrate strategies and plans that cross organizational priorities and departments, directly managing some of the highest priority/highest visibility initiatives.

ABOUT GARY SAYERS
Began my career at a radio station in Ironton, Ohio in 1993 as a sales rep and high school football sideline reporter, and on-air color commentator for high school football and basketball. Left southern Ohio in 1995 and moved to Atlanta where I coached basketball and taught history in Gwinnett County for four years. It wasn\'t my first teaching or coaching experience, however. I was a hitting instructor and coached 12-16 year-old baseball in Maine at Camp Cobbossee from 19••••93.Started a job in advertising in on the US Marine Corps\' account. From there I moved on to Momentum for two years, BBDO for two years, and Kilgannon for five years. I experienced a range of brands and industries during my career, including Powerade, Coca-Cola, Dasani, Georgia Natural Gas, Race Trac, Randstad, Alliance Theatre, ING Financial Services, Old Mutual and Manheim.I departed the agency side in 2011 to become the Director of Marketing at the Alliance Theatre where I was responsible for the brand strategy and marketing communications, as well as the development, execution and measurement of offline and online marketing, advertising and promotional initiatives.After six years at the Woodruff Arts Center, four with the Alliance Theatre and two as the Director of Marketing & Patron Experience for the Woodruff, I became the Senior Director of Marketing for the National Arthritis Foundation. There, I am responsible for account management, strategic planning and implementation of plans that support the Arthritis Foundation’s pillars, revenue development and geographic territories. I enjoy life and my family, as well as coaching fastpitch travel softball, triathlon training, basketball, college and professional sports, and have the ability communicate with anyone. I enjoy conversations involving business, finance, weather, politics, education, religion and especially sports. I\'m always looking to learn. My personal mission statement is Work Hard.
