My early career in medicine was as a Board Certified Comprehensive Ophthalmologist. I treated patients with cataracts, glaucoma, and diabetic retinopathy. I consulted for the California School for the Deaf diagnosing Usher\'s Syndrome, a variety of deafness and blindness from Retinitis Pigmentosa. I am a Professor Emeritus at the Loma Linda University School of Medicine
