Currently General Partner at Formation Venture Engineering funds and FVE Foundry (a venture engineering studio). Co-Founder and former CEO of Thrive Bioscience, Inc, Sage Science, Inc, and Owl Scientific (now part of Thermo Fisher). Former VP of MJ Research (now Bio-Rad). Numerous patents and inventions. Former Chairman, Trustee, and Hallowell Awardee, of Stoneridge, a private Montessori school in Beverly, MA (now Harborlight-Stoneridge). Currently serving on numerous life science boards. I believe that there is a better way to start life science companies than traditional VC. At Formation Venture Engineering Funds we strive to own & efficiently manage risk, and second, we build super-engaged, positive, management and stakeholder teams from the most powerful people relevant to each startup. We navigate our client companies through growth, financings, and exits. My goal is to be increasingly financially and philanthropically successful, and to be generally happy, and to help others to achieve the same. I would also like to create technologies and companies that solve global problems in health, energy, food, manufacturing, and transportation and that help heal Mother Earth.Specialties: Experienced with M&A, start-ups, IP, VC, and general management of early-stage life science companies, especially instrumentation, research tools, diagnostics, and pharmaceuticals. Interests: Nature. People. Kindness. Mentoring. Writing a novel (The Book of Numa) about a world that has conquered fear. Lemonade stand aficionado.
