I’m a collaborative, hands-on finance and accounting manager, able to leverage my diverse background to report and analyze financial data. While I have a proven track record of being able to close the books or deliver a forecast on time and in a quality manner, I have also delivered improvements to those processes whether accelerating the time to close or simplifying the process so it can be completed more quickly and efficiently. Most recently I have been process leader for the General Ledger and Cash Management modules of Dayton Freight\'s implementation of Oracle Cloud Fusion ERP Financials. Concurrent with this change we also improved the efficiency of our overall close process to cut 5 days out of the close cycle.I am comfortable and experienced interacting with a wide variety of individuals, having worked with, written memos for, and presented to upper management at a VP/Director level. I have worked as a cross functional partner supporting non-finance individuals from Purchases, Plant Operations, and other areas. Since starting at Dayton Freight in 2018, I have led and coordinated both the preparation of the Annual Company Budget as well as the year end audit with our outside auditors.Coaching and development of staff has long been one of the favorite parts of the job for me. Manage Financial Accounting Department of 6 direct employees responsible for Consolidation and Reporting for several legal entities, Corporate departments, and approximately 70 service center locations, providing P&L analysis, balance sheet, and cash flow information on a monthly basis. Coordinate annual work with outside auditor, ensuring preparation of workpapers, account reconciliations, and draft financial statements. Worked with outside auditor to implement new accounting pronouncements, including ASC 606 - Revenue Recognition and ASC 842 - Lease Accounting. Lead preparation and consolidation of company annual budget. Led implementation of Oracle Cloud ERP Financials General Ledger and Cash Management modules completed May 2019. Led implementation of Oracle PBCS Planning module completed October 2019. Shortened monthly close process by 5 days. Responsibilities of department also includes overseeing our company internal audit program (current staff of 3 auditors) as well as filing and payment of all non income taxes, including real and personal property taxes, sales & use taxes, and payroll taxes.
