ABOUT GARY HOWELLS

Director, Canada West.Specialising in Commercial, Procurement and Schedule Advisory, Dispute Resolution, Project Management, Risk Management, Expert Witness and General Management Advisory. Chartered Quantity Surveyor and Quantity Surveying Expert with extensive rail, infrastructure and energy experience worldwide. I originally trained as a Quantity Surveyor at John Laing Group and over 30 + years, have worked on many complex projects throughout the UK and internationally, working in Europe, Asia, Australia, South America, USA, Canada and the Middle East. I am responsible for managing and developing the GHI Consult businesses, and personally providing Expert, Dispute Resolution, Risk Management, Commercial Management and Procurement Advisory services. In addition, I provide forensic programme/schedule advice and I am currently commercial advisor on CAD multi billion light rail project in Alberta, Canada. I act as Expert Witness and advisor as well as managing projects / commissions that are undertaken by in Canada. I also act as management advisor to clients in the international Construction Industry. I am involved at a senior level in Dispute Resolution and Controls / Schedule Management on behalf of Crown agencies, Government bodies, Employers, Developers, Main Contractors, and Specialists. I have been appointed and given testimony as Expert Witness in International Arbitration and Litigation and adjudication. I have also been appointed in Expert Determinations. I have worked in-house and now as a consultant provide expert advice on Dispute Resolution, preparation / defence and negotiation of contractual claims in the Rail, M&E, Civil Engineering, O&G, Power, Process Engineering, Mining, Offshore and Infrastructure sectors. I have also held senior executive and operational roles in construction businesses and have managed and developed international consultancy businesses.
