  1. Litigation Board Certified Employment Law Shareholder

    Ogletree Deakins

    Jan 2016 — Present · Dallas-Fort Worth, TX, US

My practice focuses on employment law and litigation matters and trying complex commercial disputes. With extensive courtroom experience, I represent management in trying and defending all types of discrimination and retaliation suits under state and federal law, as well as wage and hour disputes. I regularly litigate employee raiding cases, enforcement of non-compete agreements, and theft of trade secret disputes. I also routinely represent clients before the EEOC, the Department of Labor, the Texas Workforce Commission, and other state and federal governmental agencies. I also handle labor contract disputes and arbitrations, including with the NLRB. Senior executives and professionals routinely hire me for employment/contract negotiations and severance advice.I also handle complex commercial cases, such as partnership disputes, real estate, lending, and landlord-tenant issues, as well as contractual, securities, and insurance suits. Clients retain me on many pre-litigation and litigation avoidance matters such as labor and employment advice, contract rights, and ownership disputes. These clients range from Fortune 10 companies in the aerospace business to start-up buisnesses. I have been a certified mediator since and regularly mediate a wide range of disputes. I have been named to the 2015 Top 100 Lawyers in Texas by Texas Super Lawyers, and included in the \"Best Lawyers in Dallas\" in 2014 and 2015 in labor and employment law. I have been listed in the Best Lawyers in America in employment law each year since 2008 and recognized as a \"Super Lawyer\" in employment law every year since 2003 in Texas Monthly and Law & Politics magazine.I routinely speak on subjects like BYOD, wage and hour issues, expert witness testimony, mediation, litigating contract provisions, arbitrations, and trial techniques. From 19••••14, I co-authored the annual survey of Texas Civil Procedure published in the SMU Law Review by the SMU Dedman School of Law.
