About Gary Davis
The book \"Strengths Finder 2.0\" helped me understand that the Learner Theme is a part of who I am. I love the process of learning, and I want to dive deep into the problems facing our clients. At Bartlett & West, I am a water/wastewater engineer and project manager that loves to solve problems by first understanding the true problem at the highest possible level before drilling into the weeds to understand the nuts and bolts. Engineering reports excite me because they involve a problem description, evaluation of alternatives, and ultimately a recommendation. I enjoy concept design, and I enjoy the detailed design tasks like calculations and writing specifications.I use my understanding of the technical aspects to lead multi-discipline project teams on water/wastewater projects. I\'m a big fan of PSMJ and all of their content and training for project managers. They have helped me improve my project management skills and pass along the tools to other aspiring PMs.My interests are: wastewater treatment and collection systems, drinking water treatment, drinking water distribution systems, and design-build.I also have a background in geotechnical engineering and construction materials testing from my education (Master\'s degree from Missouri S&T) and experience working at two geotechnical engineering firms before joining Bartlett & West. My Master\'s thesis was an aggregate research project funded by MoDOT.I joined Bartlett & West in 2011. Bartlett & West introduced me to the water/wastewater industry, employee-ownership, and a winning culture that is exciting everyday!Our clients are the communities and people within them that look to Bartlett & West for solutions and leadership. Our purpose at Bartlett & West is to lead communities to a better tomorrow, and that\'s why we exist!
