Our team provide sector leading advice and experience and have been involved in the design and delivery of some of the most sustainable, award-winning buildings in the UK.Our whole-life value approach to investment, design and development delivers high impact projects with multiple benefits – community, social and environmental. Our team work remotely and flexibly and are based in Romsey in Hampshire with the majority of our projects focused around the Solent Region. We have meeting and office space in several locations to enable sustainable travel for the team and easy access for clients and our fellow consultants.We constantly track world-wide innovations in green buildings, forging close links with some of the most innovative, green, building technology companies in the world. Developing new techniques and construction models, collaborating with industry leaders, and deriving direct benefit from energy efficiency and integrated renewables, our design team reduce energy use at source providing joined up, practical solutions to carbon reduction and zero targets.

ABOUT GARY WILBURN
Working with my colleagues at ep group I head multi-disciplined Environmentally focussed design teams, and have worked on new build and refurbishment projects throughout the UK, Europe and North America. Adopting a fabric first approach we deliver integrated sustainable and renewable energy solutions for the residential, mixed use and commercial sectors, combining skills and experience spanning over 40 years.I am a regular speaker at conferences and events and love to debate the adoption and mainstream development of Sustainable Architecture and Design along with a number of specialisms including: Sustainable Construction, Passivhaus, AECB Building Standards, Renewable Energy solutions, low energy homes, mixed use development, and Retail and Leisure.SPECIALITIES - Innovative Sustainable Architecture and Design- Whole life value and delivery of practical and financially viable solutions- Use of Building Physics to inform the design process- Energy audits and POE (post occupancy evaluation)- Site specific and integrated renewable energy systems and solutions- CLT and mass timber construction- Retro-fit and low energy refurbishment- Regenerative design- Repurposing and bringing back to life historic buildings.SPORTStarting at senior school aged 12, I began playing Rugby Union and the game is still a major part of my life, I played for 32 seasons and learned life skills, team building, leadership and met my closest friends. I represented Cottingham High School, Marist, Hull & East Riding, Nottingham, Various London clubs including Old Alleynians and Wasps (briefly), Petersfield and Romsey in Hampshire. I am a VP @Romsey RUFC and regularly attend pre match lunches and go to walking rugby sessions every Sunday. Having captained many of the teams I played in, I try and keep in touch with as many ex team mates as possible.After retiring from Rugby and to try and keep fit I then played social tennis and to my surprise represented Romsey for 10 years of very enjoyable league and social sport. My competitive nature continues today, mainly shouting words of encouragement from the sidelines including at premiership rugby matches whenever I can. or when I get invited!
