Serve as Director of Career Education and District Innovation for the Fort Smith Public Schools. Working with a great team of Career Development Facilitators and teachers to develop pathways to careers for our students. Oversee K-12 CTE programming, Carl Perkins funding, curriculum development, program development, recruitment and retention. Working with district, higher education, and regional partners to develop and operate the Peak Innovation Center. Duties have included program and construction planning, fundraising, grant writing, project management, community outreach, grant management, and planning for future phases of growth in this square foot facility. The Peak Innovation Center was a concept in 2018, but now is a $20 million facility where career and college-bound students develop real-world skills and earn industry-specific certifications to create a future workforce that will drive success across the industry and beyond. Peak offers concurrent credit technical training to regional 11th and 12th graders in Advanced Manufacturing, Health Sciences, and Information Technology through a partnership with the University of Arkansas- Fort Smith. Peak also offers high school credit programs in Emerging Art and Design, Construction Technology, and Patient Care Technician. New adult apprenticeships came on board this fall, including Plumbing and Residential Construction. In addition to this role, served as interim Adult Education Director 20••••23 after an unexpected resignation.
