Supporting community food organisations Newport through increasing demand and rising running costs. Providing support, in partnership with Newport City Council and other supportive community initiatives. Assisting the bringing together of a network of organisations delivering access to food initiatives across the Newport area. Supporting improvements and extension of services for the benefit of the community. Managing a food poverty fund to support local food project delivery and monitoring outcomes of funded schemes. Currently working to develop the role to encompass a broader remit which included starting the work to establish a Cross-sector Sustainable Food System for Newport.
