Lead Systems Engineer & Engineering Work Package ManagerI lead a small, high-performing team of multidisciplinary engineers to deliver optronic & EW mast infrastructure that supports UK sovereign capability on a programme of national strategic importance.My responsibilities include:• Scope, manage, and report on engineering work packages.• Identify, assess, and mitigate technical risks.• Lead a diverse engineering team to deliver robust, compliant solutions.• Act as the main engineering point of contact all internal and external project stakeholders.• Write requirement specifications, product breakdown structures, statement of works, requests for information, and interface control documents to scope and manage subcontractors effectively.• Facilitate, analyse and review design trade-off studies to achieve pragmatic solutions that meet cost & schedule- Product Design AuthorityAppointed as the Project Design Authority (PDA) for rotary equipment upgrades on periscope life extension programmes providing critical capability enhancements for both the Royal Navy (RN) and Royal Australian Navy (RAN). Responsible for ensuring strict adherence to industry standards, regulatory requirements, and best practice, in line with Thales’ project, design and configuration management processes. Approver of all project related engineering artefacts.
