ABOUT GARY SMITH-CDCPM

I am a Project Manager with extensive experience delivering large-scale data centre projects across Europe, specialising in ICT, security systems, BMS, and electrical scopes. I have successfully led complex, multi-disciplinary programmes from design coordination through installation, commissioning, and handover, often within live or mission-critical environments. My strengths lie in stakeholder management, risk mitigation, programme control, and driving high standards of safety and quality while meeting demanding schedules. I am comfortable managing international teams, vendors, and clients, and I take pride in building strong relationships that enable projects to be delivered efficiently, safely, and to the highest technical standards.I am a data centre and telecommunications professional with over seven years’ experience delivering complex infrastructure across hyperscale data centres, national telecoms networks, and major infrastructure programmes. I have worked extensively on the Three and BT networks, highways projects, and fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) rollouts, providing full delivery of primary and secondary containment and end-to-end fibre and copper cabling solutions.My technical background covers single-mode, multi-mode, and ribbon fibre in both live and greenfield environments, giving me a deep understanding of how to build, upgrade, and protect mission-critical networks. I have supported large-scale data centre projects across Mechanical, Electrical, and ICT scopes, ensuring work is delivered safely, to specification, and in line with demanding programme and quality requirements.I bring a strong track record of working across multiple disciplines and stakeholders, coordinating interfaces, solving problems in fast-paced environments, and driving high standards of delivery. My focus is always on building resilient, scalable infrastructure that supports business-critical operations and long-term growth.
