About Gary Siems
Gary Siems is an Oil & Gas Asset Retirement Specialist experienced in managing, planning and executing the removal of oil & gas wells, platforms and pipelines. In his earlier roles as Vice-President of Decommissioning for MONTCO Oilfield Contractors and Decommissioning Manager at Stone Energy Corporation, an oil and gas company, Mr. Siems utilized the latest technologies to implement and optimize the concurrent decommissioning methodology to perform well and platform removals in one-half the time for one-third less cost over traditional methods. Using the new method, he permanently abandoned over 650 wells and 165 offshore structures, receiving the 2013 National Ocean Industries Association (NOIA) Safety-in-Seas award for the innovative process and associated safety performance.Previously, he was a Managing Director at TETRA Applied Technologies. Here, Mr. Siems was responsible for acquiring and integrating new business ventures into Well Abandonment and Decommissioning division, developing well and pipeline cutting technologies while simultaneously managing the operations and Profit/Loss of Tetra\'s EOT Cutting Services, Rigless Well Plug & Abandonment and Electric Wireline business units.He is experienced in well servicing operations, well plugging and abandonment, sales, marketing and financial management with over 40 years of experience gained through his work at Schlumberger, Superior Energy, TETRA, Stone Energy, MONTCO and his own company, PAR Specialists. He co-authored two U.S. Patents for surface and subsea cutting equipment, is a member of the Gerson Lehrman Group\'s Council of Energy Advisors and holds a B.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Florida and an MBA from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette.
